5 Days to Go!

Hey everyone!!

I’ve gotten a little busy since starting school, it’s going well so far! I’ve also gotten a little busy preparing for the cruise. 5 more days left!! I’m all packed up and ready to go!

Today I purchased the last few things that I felt I’d need for the trip. (Removal cream, toothbrush, shower spongey thingy, etc. I’m not sure if I should review the cream?) but I anyway, I grabbed a couple of waterproof makeup products among a couple of other things, take a look:

Show n’ Tell 2

First, I want to thank those who voted on my 2nd What to Wear poll!! Here are the results:pollresults

There was a tie between two outfits (I wish there could’ve been a tie breaker, perhaps if I had posted the poll earlier lol)
I ended up taking it upon myself to choose between the two outfits in the end!

And, guess what! I got the job!! So thanks a lot everyone :) I’m really excited about starting.

Now, on to my Show n’ Tell!! I bought a few new things this weekend. :3

I liked the pattern on this dress but when I got home and tried it on I soon learned that it’s rather… shapeless/boxy :/ Maybe it’s just me, I don’t know. It has little pockets though, I thought that was cute.
$8.00

Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails nail strengthener. I haven’t used this type of nail polish treatment in awhile. I feel like it works really well, I mean you guys have seen how long my nails can grow. ;D>
So I stand by it!
1.99 (was on sale)

My grandmother gave me these to cheer me up. (I was the only one out of my siblings running errands, getting things together yesterday for my mom’s bday- AND I got a flat tire doing it… so I was just totally pooped and annoyed by the time I was done >_>.)

Shades of Foundation

Image
These days, there are many different foundation shades to match our various beautiful skintones. Although you may have a foundation that matches your tone, I think it’s still beneficial to have very light shades and very dark shades in your collection.

1. You can mix shades to create new ones (Shades to better match your true skintone)

2. You can use darker shades for contouring points of your face

3. You can use lighter shades for highlighting points of your face.

4. You get darker in the summer and lighter in the winter, so your shade may change a little- meaning your original foundation isn’t going to match you all year long. (Unless you live somewhere, where the weather is consistent all year)

I’ve have a small collection of different foundation brands (at least compared to others!), about 12+

Here’s a photo of (some) the range of shades that I have.

Here I ran my finger down the middle so you can see how mixing the shades can create a new one:

Looks like between 4 and 5 would match my arm the best, huh?

I know how difficult it is finding the right foundation. But the next time you accidentally buy a foundation that is a couple shades too light or too dark, don’t get upset, throw it out, or give it away. Add it into your collection because you can definitely still use it!

First Impressions: Iman BB Cream

IMAG0438

“Not worth the price.”

I’ve been wanting to try this out since I heard it was being formulated late last year. When it finally hit shelves, I couldn’t find it in any of the local stores around my neighborhood, and I didn’t want to order online. I went into Wal-Mart yesterday, and low and behold: BAM! It was there.

So I finally got a hold of some of Iman’s BB Cream!  A BB cream for women of color!? Fuck yeah!

Price: $20

Shade: Clay Medium (I almost got Clay Medium Deep)

Unfortunately… I’m  not very impressed by it so far, especially not to have spent 20 bucks on it. Eeeh..

beforeafter

Before: Soo, me without makeup. Hella pale, skin imperfections, puffy under eyes

After: Brightened and more evened skintone, not much coverage, made skin shinier, made puffy under eyes even more visible -__- (and I filled in my eyebrows, I had to. Lol)

Well, these are just my first impressions. I just don’t feel like it makes much of a difference… and for it to make my skin shiny is just, urggh.. Not good. I already have oily skin, so that’s the last thing I need.

I suppose it would be fine to wear if I’m just running out to the store, doing errands. I guess it does look nice for a “Fresh face” kinda look. Granted my skin already feels smooth, this BB cream still makes it feel nice. And I can’t “feel” it sitting on my skin (where as some foundations are heavy and you know it’s there). So that is all a plus.

This is what my full face of makeup would usually consist of:

BB Cream

Concealer

Foundation

Setting Powder

Eyebrow pencil

Liquid Liner

Eye shadow

Mascara or False Lashes

Lipstick/Lipgloss

Bronzer

(Circle lenses? Does that count hahaha)

                                                                                                             (different lighting)

And here I’m only wearing:

Iman’s BB cream

Concealer

Setting Powder (I just can’t with the shininess!! Dx)

Eyebrow pencil

Mascara

So, I’m going to keep it on all day/night. I’ll report back later to let you all know how this BB holds up. I’ll even workout in it haha. Maybe I’ll like it better when I use it more often. It’s suppose to improve my overall skintone over time (days, weeks, months), so I’ll be watching out for that too.

Again, these are just my first impressions.
