Marley/Havana Twists

I plan on switching up my hair style tomorrow!!

I’d like to have a new style before I go back to school in a couple of weeks, and I’ll keep in this style until after my cruise is over. :)

The style is called Marley twists (or Havanna, I call them Marley because that’s the type of hair I use). Marley/Havana twists are basically two-strand twists with hair extensions.  Marley/Havana twists haven’t become that popular where I live (or at least I haven’t seen many women with the style- only 1 to be exact lol), but I still like them nevertheless! I had some last year and everyone loved it. Most people thought they were dreads though lol.

Marley is the type of hair extensions used for the style, and it can be purchased at your local beauty supply stores.
$4.99/pack

Havanna is also the name of the hair extension, but I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) can only be purchased online here: FingerComber.com.
Price: 12.99/pack

There are plenty of tutorials that teach you how to install these twists yourself, and so that’s the route I plan on going again.
Here are some different ones for those who may be interested in trying it out themselves. It’s very easy!

I’ll share pics of how it comes out, laterrrr!! :3

#2: What to Wear?

Hey hey hey!

I meant to post this waaaaay earlier! You see, I have a job interview tomorrow afternoon, and while I was so busy prepping myself for questions and worrying about what I should bring… I forgot to plan out what I was going to wear.

I won’t say what the job is x__x Maybe after I get it? lol. Or not. I will say that if I get it, I’ll most likely be able to dress Lolita style to work! *__*

Anyway, but my interviewer already knows I have interest in art, fashion, and things like that. She’s expecting someone creative! So part of me is thinking maybe I should try to think outside of the box (just a little?) and, while still being professional- not do the typical black bottoms and white blouse?

Well, I kinda rushed and tossed some things together, but here are some looks I’ve put together, please vote and let me know which you like better!

Outfit #1:  Simple, black pencil skirt and a green button down blouse. I’ll most likely dress up with accessories

Outfit #2: The typical. White blouse, black (pencil) skirtIMG_0627

Outfit #3: Sheer pink blouse with the black peter pan collar and cuffs + Black pencil skirt. Will probably wear those pearls to dress it up.IMG_0618

Outfit #4: Although the typical black/white look, I felt like the pattern top added some flare + White pencil skirt

Outfit #4b: And similar to outfit 4, only the skirt is black.

VOTE HERE:

Also, these are the shoes I’m debating between (depends on which outfit I wear, so it’s really not up for voting hahaha- though I’ll take any suggestions for which shoes you feel will look best with which outfit you like!) Nothing special as you can see hahaha!

Anyway, I’m going to bed now so I can be up extra early and prepared! Goodnight everyone, thanks!

Fashion Don’ts

Hello ladies and gents.

I’ve been wanting to make this post for a while.

Some people are just totally clueless when it comes to fashion, and don’t realize what they’re wearing makes them look ridiculous. Of course, if you happen to do any of the fashion don’ts I’m about to list…. Well….*I* believe you should cut it out, but hey, at the end of the day you can wear whatever the fuck you want. You think people don’t give me stares and shit when they see me dressed “different”? I simply don’t care… but yeah, still- just know that if I saw you on the street or somewhere, you’d get a huge sideeye from me.

So, let me help you.

1. Sunglasses at night: Stop doing this! It’s stupid! They’re called SUNglasses for a reason. You just end up looking like a douche-bag. I remember I was going to a nightclub with this girl… She picked me up in her ride and when I got in,  I noticed she had on her sunglasses. I guess she thought she looked coool (SIKE)… Unfortunately she couldn’t even see shit while she was driving. We were even 20 mins late to the club because she read the exits or signs. Needless to say, I haven’t been out with her again (not unless the keys are in my hands)… I’d like to live another 20, 30 years, thanks.

2. Sagging pants: Disgusting. Nobody wants to see your undergarments and nobody wants to see your ass. You look plain ridiculous trying to walk and balance your pants at the same time. Can you even run? If a dude approached me with his pants under his ass I wouldn’t give him the time of day. Also, ladies, nobody wants to see your thong straps… Well, maybe some sleazeball dudes. Have fun with that. Hah, no- Put a damn belt on.

3. Wrong size: Just about anyone can pull off an “over-sized” or “baggy” look… if it’s done right. But not many can pull off wearing clothes that are too small. I hate how messy and bummy someone can look, walking out of the house with some huge top or bottom. What the hell were you thinking? And wearing something too small is even worse. If your clothes shrunk in the wash, give it up, give it away. You do want to be able to breathe, don’t you? So, how about trying on your clothes before buying them..

4. Chipped Nail polish: My mom always said to me, “Put it on, or take it off.” Because it’s not cute. If your nail polish is chipping, take that shit off and re-do it. It’s not edgy, or grungy, or whatever. It’s just tacky.

5. Mixing prints: Many people like this… I do not. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes it works… But I rarely see it done to a point where I’m like, “Oh! I really like that! I need to try it!” For example, wearing a floral skirt with a striped top? What? What the hell are you doing with your life?

6. Dresses/skirts layered over denim/leggings: This is one of the ugliest trends I’ve ever seen. No one can pull this off (unless you’re like 5 years old!) I thought it died and I’d never have to witness it again after I graduated high school… Boy, was I wrong.

7. Panty lines: Skirt or pants that reveal the outline of your panties. Embarrassing! Put on a thong, and don’t give that, “They’re uncomfortable.” bullshit. This is what they’re made for, dammit!

8. Exposed bra: Sometimes this works, if it’s a really cute bra and it helps add flare to the outfit… but that’s rare. Make sure your bra straps and everything is covered.

9. Sock with Sandals: Take those fucking socks off! And that’s all I’m going to say!

10. Formal attire with sneakers: Sneakers aren’t formal. Fail! I remember a lot of fools doing this on prom night. No. Just, no. Some people just try waaaay too hard. Please wear the right shoes with formal attire, this isn’t cute or edgy. Just makes you look immature and goofy.

Weekend Thrifting! (2)

I went thrifting again and found some great things.

This time I went some place a little bit closer to me. I think it might be my new favorite thrift store. If anyone in Georgia wants to check it out, it’s located here: 3303 Centerville Hwy, Snellville, GA, 30039 (Goodwill, next to the Ingles grocery store)

This time I spent a total of $33.46 (tax not included) on 8 items.

1.1370121358531b
4 pairs of shorts

2 x denim
1 x tanned(?)
1 x pink gym shorts- the funny thing about these shorts is that they say “GT” on them, I still would have gotten them regardless… but GT stands for Georgia Tech (Georgia Institute of Technology). A school where all of the super duper smarties go. I’m not even trying to front like I went to that school, currently go to that school, or have any plans to go to attend that school lmao! It would be nice if I knew how to remove the logo… anyone know? *shrugs* oh well.
Price: $3.93 each
Brands:  1st (never heard of it, couldn’t even find it with google o.o), Bongo, Paris Blues, Champion

The REAL color. The flash made it appear lighter in the other photos

A green blouse, it’s really sheer and although it’s long sleeve the fabric makes me think it’ll still be light and airy. And I don’t know if you can see it, but there is a small dotted stain on the front of the blouse. Hopefully it’ll come out.
Price: $4.94
Brands: Courtenay

My most favorite find of them all!! I have to work on the back zipper a little bit, but it’s nothing serious. I initially thought it was a dress (found it on the dress rack), but after trying it on, I was like… no… I’d have to definitely wear short/pants/skirt under this. I love the pattern sooo much. Only problem is I have no clue what shoes to wear with it. Any ideas?
Price: $4.94
Brands: N/A (:( I really want to know where I can find more things like this!!!)

And that’s it. :)
