I’d like to have a new style before I go back to school in a couple of weeks, and I’ll keep in this style until after my cruise is over. :)
The style is called Marley twists (or Havanna, I call them Marley because that’s the type of hair I use). Marley/Havana twists are basically two-strand twists with hair extensions. Marley/Havana twists haven’t become that popular where I live (or at least I haven’t seen many women with the style- only 1 to be exact lol), but I still like them nevertheless! I had some last year and everyone loved it. Most people thought they were dreads though lol.
Marley is the type of hair extensions used for the style, and it can be purchased at your local beauty supply stores. $4.99/pack
Havanna is also the name of the hair extension, but I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) can only be purchased online here: FingerComber.com. Price: 12.99/pack
There are plenty of tutorials that teach you how to install these twists yourself, and so that’s the route I plan on going again.
Here are some different ones for those who may be interested in trying it out themselves. It’s very easy!
I’ll share pics of how it comes out, laterrrr!! :3
It’s supposed to be spring, you know: The flowers are supposed to be pretty and in bloom, and the skies are supposed to be clear and sunny… Psh, could’ve fooled me. It was freezing today! I just like to be lazy and warm in this kinda weather, so a lot of my outfits have been put together more so for comfort than for style.. But I even forgot my jacket at home because I wasn’t expecting it to be THAT cold hahaha. I was freezing my little ass off! Today I went for a tomboy/boyfriend(? i guess) kinda look. I don’t know, I felt cute though.
A flannel + graphic tee+ skinnys+ a pair of worn out chucks. Easy? Yep.
I’m such a goof :P
And of course, these are the glasses I purchased.
Got them off eBay, they were only a buck (plus some change) and free shipping! No links, but you can find them very easy. Seriously, just go to the eBay.com website and search “Nerd Glasses”. You’ll see they come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and most are under 2 dollars.
On another note, I’ve also been thinking, maybe I’ll start posting the outfits that I go raving in… Maybe you guys aren’t ready for that
;) haha, we’ll see!
Today I went for a different hairstyle. It’s a hairstyle inspired by pinup girls that ladies with naturally kinky or curly hair can do!! And let me tell you, it was a complete hit. I wore it to school and everyone loved it! I got a lot of compliments and a couple of guys even asked me out (I kid you not, it was pretty annoying lol. -_-)
I really like this look a lot and plan to do it more often. I’ve actually done it once before on Thanksgiving last year, I didn’t take any photos that day unfortunately.
It’s not really HARD to do this hairstyle, but… it may take a little practice. Just getting the rolls perfect can get frustrating. Mine aren’t perfect, but I was happy enough with it. I think the longer your hair is the better you’ll be able to pull this style off. Make sure that you stretch your hair with a blow-out, twist-out, or braid-out before attempting (just makes it easier in my opinion).
Here is the tutorial, created by a beauty known as, “ThePinupNoire”, on Youtube
I had midterms all week, and today was my last day of school before Spring Break. I just wanted to be comfortable hahaha! I’ve got quite a few over-sized sweaters like this. My mom says they look masculine, but that’s … Continue reading →
